Bossk's cannibalistic boasts may be bluster in order to maintain his image and reputation as one of the most feared bounty hunters in the galaxy.īossk is a cannibal - a truth that became a part of him in the moments after he first hatched - but his continued threats may or may not be genuine. It is the third in a thematic series about minor characters from the original trilogy, all edited by Kevin J. ![]() In Bounty Hunters #11, Bossk scavenged rations off a recently killed foe while later claiming to Bib Fortuna that he prefers his meat "raw." As revealed in Halcyon Legacy #5 by Ethan Sacks and Will Sliney, Bossk is still a part of T'Onga's crew after the fall of the Empire. Tales of the Bounty Hunters is an anthology of five short stories about the bounty hunters hunting Han Solo in The Empire Strikes Back. However, in spite of the threats and jokes, Bossk has never actually been witnessed eating another being beyond his siblings in the nest. Bossk may not be a monster to other Trandoshans, rather partaking in a biological urge built by millions of years of evolution to help their race survive the merciless ecosystem of Trandosha. ![]() As apex predators driven more by instinct than most other sentient races, it's possible cannibalism is a traditional element of Trandoshan culture. While Bossk has held a deep disdain for his father, Cradossk, in both timelines, his Legends' counterpart went on to murder his father with his own ornamental dagger before ritualistically devouring him. This is in line with Bossk as he existed in the defunct Legends continuity. In previous issues of Bounty Hunters, Bossk has both threatened to eat teammate Tasu Leech's fingers for touching him and, while rescuing the innocent crew of the doomed Accretion Disco space station, T'Ongo warned the bounty hunter that the people they'd saved were explicitly not food. While uttering a desire to eat a fellow Trandoshan is new, this isn't the first time Bossk has indicated a willingness to eat sentient beings. ![]()
